Whilst today may mark the start of the national lockdown in England, it also marks 7 years of Credit4. What an incredible journey we have had so far!

Back in 2013, we were a team of 2 based out of a small shared office in central London with nothing more than a strong vision – to support the UK SME market struggling to obtain much-needed funding from high street banks. Ironically, we even struggled to open our own bank account in the early days!

Our message has remained the same, and in many ways we haven’t changed our approach at all. We have continually lent based on the relationships we build with clients and brokers alike. We are not a bank or indeed a “Fintech.” We don’t use fancy algorithms and we don’t utilise risk-based pricing. Each client is dealt with sensitively, and we take the time to truly understand their position now, and even more importantly, their vision for the future of their business.

Whilst we have come a long way, there is still so much more to do. New products, new additions to the team and continually streamlining our processes in order to continue our mission in supporting more SMEs that struggle to obtain finance. We learn every day and strive to continuously improve.

This year has arguably been the hardest trading year of our 7 years, but like many other businesses, we have evolved in what is becoming the new normal. We didn’t stop lending; we provided support to our existing clients and welcomed new ones too. Being a truly relationship lender is our raison d’être. We are a small business too after all, so we understand the challenges that business owners face and will always try and provide the right support, at the right time. Thinking outside the box is crucial in really understanding how to best serve our clients.

We want to take this opportunity to thank you. Being predominantly an introducer-led business, we know the value that you bring in supporting your clients, and your support has honestly meant the world to us.
